Pitch Update: Admiral, Qualcomm, Fairmont Windsor Park, Lenbrook International and more

PRWeek's weekly round-up of pitches and account moves.

The FTSE 100-listed insurer Admiral has retained Welsh PR agency BrandContent without a pitch, and expanded its remit.

Montfort advised National World in its £10.2m acquisition of JPI Publishing Group. JPI Group is the UK’s third-biggest publisher of regional newspapers and websites, with mastheads including The Scotsman, The Yorkshire Post, Belfast News Letter, Sheffield Star, Edinburgh Evening News, Portsmouth News and Lancashire Evening Post. 

Housebuilder and developer Hill Group has appointed The Oracle Group to deliver corporate and sales PR and communications. Hill Group is the UK’s third-biggest privately owned housebuilder and has a five-year plan to become one of the top five construction companies in the UK.

Made By Giants has won a brand brief to name and develop the visual identity and company messaging for a new retail analytics company based in Paris. Temporarily called ‘Here For Retail’ until a new name is created, the company has hired Made By Giants to accelerate its growth following a recent divestment from its group company.

Qualcomm has appointed H+K Strategies as its EMEA agency of record for PR and social. H+K’s remit includes amplifying Qualcomm’s consumer communications, covering the UK, France, Italy, Germany and Spain. Hotwire previously held the account.

Independent healthcare specialist Road has been appointed to advise Relife, the aesthetics division of Italian pharmaceutical company A. Menarini. The agency is providing PR and social media support targeting aesthetic doctors and allied professionals, followed by a wider launch to UK consumers later in the year. Road has also been appointed by Spanish menstrual underwear brand Cocoro to launch into the UK market.

Lenbrook International has appointed Olex Communications as its PR agency of record in North America and the UK. The move follows the retirement of Peter Hoagland, who previously represented Lenbrook’s North American distribution business for nearly a decade. Olex Communications has represented Lenbrook’s brands in the UK for three years.  

Key Cities – a group representing mid-sized cities and urban areas across the UK – has appointed built environment communications specialist ING Media to provide policy and media services. The remit includes PR activity, online content and social media, events, consultation responses and developing policy statements.

Alfred has been appointed by videogame developer and publisher Jagex as its retained creative agency to support social media activity for the 20th anniversary of online game RuneScape in 2021. The remit includes the ideation and production of assets, development of both proactive and reactive social content, and social media consultancy.

Fox Communications has been appointed to handle the UK public relations for Fairmont Windsor Park, which is set to open in the spring following a redevelopment of the former Savill Court Hotel. The agency has been tasked with implementing an integrated communications campaign for the opening of Fairmont Windsor Park.

Britain’s biggest independent bike repair company, Havebike, has appointed Fusion Media as its PR agency. The brief includes raising awareness of the brand across specialist, mainstream and national media titles as well as securing influencer partnerships.

Cheshire-based boutique PR consultancy Philosophy PR has added three new clients: independent retailer Divine Trash, North West-based home care provider Alcedo Care, and advisory firm Hilltop Finance.

Nottingham-based Eden PR has won two new accounts: fifth-generation business AW Lymn The Family Funeral Service, and North Notts independent preparatory school Worksop College and Ranby House.

British natural skincare brand Emma Hardie Skincare has appointed full-service agency CHS to help it launch a new premium product for the spring. As part of the launch, CHS will produce a range of consumer-targeted video and imagery assets.

Birmingham PR agency East Village has achieved two new client wins: sustainably sourced jewellery brand Influenstar, and the UK’s only plastic-free firewood retailer, Love Logs, to deliver strategic PR and influencer engagement.
