Cat Howard, who will report to's chief magic officer Daniel Marks, brings more than 20 years of experience as a creative to the agency.

She has previously worked at ad agencies including Mother, We Are Social and MullenLowe London, and with clients including Unilever, Rolex, Jameson, Laurent Perrier, Calvin Klein, Marks & Spencer, Range Rover and BMW.

For the past nine years has Howard run her own consultancy, working with clients such as TRESemmé, Compass Box, Zalando and Weleda.

Her work has included global advertising campaigns, TV commercial graphics and animations, brand identity guidelines, print and point of sale campaigns, as well as outdoor.

Marks said Howard will work alongside colleagues in's Science and Experience departments.

“Cat brings the Magic to our exceptional senior team,” he said. “She has been responsible for developing award-winning creative campaigns, brand identity, designing brand platforms and art direction and, through the magic of creativity, will help build globally impactful storytelling and enduring business value for the brands and people of tomorrow at ScienceMagic.Inc.

“Her first role was to create the ScienceMagic.Inc brand identity for us. Cat will work with me to bring the Magic to everything that we do, build our creative team at SMI and work with our clients to champion and execute exceptional creative ideas.”

Howard said: “There are so many challenges facing brands today and now, more than ever, they have to respond to these in a positive, meaningful and dynamic way. I look forward to being part of a team who create exceptional and compelling work, powered by Science and manifested across multiple consumer experience channels.”

ScienceMagic.Inc was set up last October by former Guardian Media Group chief executive David Pemsel, and The Communications Store’s chief executive Julietta Dexter and chief creative officer Daniel Marks.
