The campaign, set to launch within six weeks, aims to collect as many views as possible on a diverse range of regulators.
Still in its early stages, the campaign is being led by taskforce appointee Deirdre Hutton, who is also chair of the National Consumer Council.
Hutton said the campaign will, 'target those who are regulated and the regulators themselves', with the aim of presenting the results to Government by July.
The taskforce's retained agency the Flagship Group will assist with PR.
Ministers handling regulation in all government departments were written to last week for their views on which regulators to investigate. This is likely to lead to scrutiny of four areas, which currently involve more than one regulatory body.
Regulators highlighted by chairman David Arculus last year for review included the Accounting Standards Board and the Information Commissioner, although Hutton stressed that no specific regulators had yet been named for this latest review.
The body was set up in 1997 to combat red tape and ensure good practice in regulation.
