WASHINGTON: Curley Company has promoted KayAnn Schoeneman to the newly created position of EVP.
Schoeneman, whose current title is SVP, officially starts in the new role January 1. She reports to the agency’s president and CEO Jennifer Curley. Schoeneman will have eight total reports — four of which are direct reports — including digital and creative design/video staffers.
The position is essentially a COO role, said Schoeneman. Her duties will include “managing the strategic direction, oversight of and management for multiple practice areas and [playing] a critical role in determining the future and long-term success of the agency,” according to an agency statement.
The new position is meant to deal with the growth the agency saw this year; revenue at Curley Company grew 66% in 2020, according to the statement.
“I’m taking [more] responsibility over management of the firm and the staff and partnering with Jennifer,” Schoeneman said. “I am taking all those operational skills that my big agency experience fine tuned and bringing them with flexibility to a boutique atmosphere to be sure we continue to grow.”
Schoeneman said she will continue to manage some of her prior SVP duties but added that the agency is planning on hiring more staff to help. She has worked for Curley — shortlisted for Outstanding Boutique Agency for the 2021 PRWeek U.S. Awards — since December of last year.
Before joining Curley, Schoeneman was market leader for Ketchum’s Washington, DC, office.
