The St James Quarter in Edinburgh has appointed Stripe as its consumer PR agency across the UK and internationally.

The firm will work alongside Redwood Consulting, which has handled b2b and corporate PR, stakeholder engagement and crisis communications for the project for the past eight years.

When completed, St James Quarter will feature a shopping galleria with 80 stores, 30 restaurants, a Bonnie & Wild food hall, Scotland’s first W hotel, a boutique Everyman Cinema, a Roomzzz Aparthotel, residential apartments and parking for 1,600 cars.

The development will create a new lifestyle district in Edinburgh’s City Centre.

The account will be managed by Stripe’s Edinburgh office.

“The St James Quarter will be transformational for the city of Edinburgh. Not only enhancing the city centre environment, but driving economic growth, and providing a retail, hospitality and leisure offering that will attract both locals and visitors,” Stripe chief executive Juliet Simpson said.

“After a challenging year, we’re honoured to work on such a prestigious project for the city, and one that will have such a positive impact on so many.”

St James Quarter brand and marketing director Rochelle Burgess said: “Stripe demonstrated an impressive level of strategic thinking, insight and creativity which, when combined with its experience and approach, made it a clear choice.”
