ESTERO, FL: Hertz Corporation, which operates the Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty vehicle-rental brands, has promoted Tressie Rose to VP of global communications.
In the top comms role at the company, Rose is reporting to chief human resources officer Eric Leef.
The last person to lead communications at Hertz was Leslie Hunziker, SVP of investor relations, communications and CSR, who has resigned. Hunziker could not be reached for comment.
“IR will be handled by finance, and CSR will move to HR for now,” said Rose.
Rose has worked at Hertz since 2018 as senior director of external communications. The company will not directly replace her in that role, she said via email.
“We will do some modest restructuring of the communications team and hiring a few managers in Q1,” Rose added. “The modest restructuring is more on the roles and responsibilities of the communication team.”
Before joining Hertz, Rose worked at Procter & Gamble for nearly 11 years, most recently as associate director of media relations and social media. She has also served as director of corporate comms and marketing for airline Comair and communications senior manager for telecommunications company Cincinnati Bell.
In addition to owning the vehicle leasing and fleet management company Donlen, Hertz Corporation operates the Firefly vehicle rental brand and Hertz 24/7 car sharing business in international markets and sells vehicles through Hertz Car Sales. It’s best known for its Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty brands.
In Q3, Hertz Corporation parent Hertz Global Holdings posted revenue of $1.3 billion, a decline from more than $2.8 billion in the year prior, and a net loss attributable to the company of $222 million. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May.
