ATLANTA: The United Parcel Service has promoted Malcolm Berkley and Kara Gerhardt Ross to senior communications roles.
Berkley will be UPS’ president of media, investor and crisis communications, and Gerhardt Ross has been upped to president of international communications, digital and executive affairs.
Both Gerhardt Ross and Berkley will report to Laura Lane, UPS chief of corporate affairs, communications and sustainability officer.
Berkley has spent more than 22 years with UPS, working in strategic communications and brand management. Most recently, he was VP of media, investor and crisis communications.
Before her promotion, Gerhardt Ross spent a decade as VP of strategic communications and public affairs at UPS.
Prior to joining UPS, Gerhardt Ross was president of KGR Public Relations and held government positions at The White House as President Bill Clinton’s spokesperson, at the U.S. Department of Transportation and the U.S. General Services Administration.
The news comes just days before UPS announces it will begin nationwide shipping of vaccine kits. UPS said vaccines will get location tracking and priority flights once they are approved by the FDA for distribution.
