LOUISVILLE, KY: Mystery. Suspense. Deceit. A Lifetime movie full of these things is no surprise. But a new film from the cable network has another ingredient: Colonel Harland Sanders.
Sanders’ character, played by Mario Lopez, is the star of the 15-minute film, A Recipe for Seduction, which is set to premiere on December 13.
KFC is releasing a trailer on Monday for the tongue-in-cheek drama, which naturally features Sanders as the love interest. But, as with most Lifetime movies, expect some kind of “fowl” play.
The movie is a “playful addition” to the network’s It’s a Wonderful Lifetime movie slate, according to a statement from KFC agency partner Edelman. Following the movie’s premiere, it will stream on mylifetime.com/christmas-movies, all Lifetime apps and video-on-demand platforms.
KFC and Uber Eats will also offer six free tenders with a purchase of $20 or more between December 13 and 19.
“Saved by the Bell” star Lopez is the latest in a long line of actors to don Sanders’ white suit, following screen legend George Hamilton and even a robot.
