The Romans will deliver a retained press office and influencer programme for Valspar, in addition to multiple creative campaigns to support key brand developments launching throughout 2021.
The Romans will lead on the brand's PR vision and work alongside its interagency team to deliver integrated, multichannel work during a year that is “set to be the brand’s most ambitious yet”.
Valspar is a paints, stains and coatings manufacturer founded in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1806. It has been trading in the UK since 2015 and uses colour-matching technology that can produce more than 2.2 million colours. Valspar’s paints and coatings have coloured several cultural icons, including Charles Lindbergh’s plane Spirit of St Louis, the Hong Kong Convention Centre, the Coca-Cola can and Yamaha grand pianos.
Valspar European managing director Jane Ryder said: “The Romans set themselves apart with their sheer enthusiasm, tenacity and brilliant team chemistry.
“That’s exactly what we look for in our agency partners: teams who share our passion to create excellent work that resonates with and excites consumers… 2021 is set to be a pivotal year for us at Valspar and so we’ve told The Romans to challenge us and have no doubt they will.”
The pitch process was run and managed by Jackie Elliot of Cathcart Consulting, who writes PRWeek’s Agony Aunt column.
