Experts from Warner Bros., Lenovo, Cisco highlight PRWeek Racial Equity Summit

The virtual event is set for December 10.

PRWeek’s Racial Equity Summit is set to include insights from top communications executives from companies such as Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Lenovo, PwC, Cisco, HP and Facebook, as well as agencies APCO Worldwide, Edelman and Havas Formulatin.

The first panel at the virtual event, Showing Up as Your True Self at Work, will feature insight from Andy Checo, associate VP, Havas Formulatin; Shawn Smith, director of worldwide PR, Warner Bros. Consumer Products; Rebecca Chen, VP, marketing, Action Button; Sade Ayodele, account director, Taylor; and Deisha Barnett, chief brand and communications officer, diversity and inclusion, Metro Atlanta Chamber. 

The summit’s second session will be focused on Diversity as a Business Imperative and will feature Lenovo chief communications officer Torod Neptune; Carmella Glover, executive director, Diversity Action Alliance; J.C. Lapierre, chief communications officer, PwC; and Steve Barrett, VP, editorial director, PRWeek. 

The third and final session of the virtual event, What It’s Like to Be Black in the Tech PR Sector, will feature Letty Ledbetter, VP, global communications, product, Cisco; Karen Kahn, chief communications officer, HP; Monique McKenzie, head of lifestyle communications, Facebook; and Charlene Wheeless; chair, Page, and senior adviser for equity and justice, APCO Worldwide.
