StubHub comms head Kate Brinks joins Amazon

She’s serving as director of corporate communications at the ecommerce giant.

SEATTLE: StubHub communications head Kate Brinks has joined Amazon as director of corporate communications.

It is understood that Brinks started in the role this month and is reporting to Dan Persico, Amazon’s director of external corporate comms.

Previously, Brinks was ticket resale platform StubHub’s senior director of global communications and social media.

StubHub hired Brinks in May 2018. She left the company last month and Brad Glasser, director of global communications, took over Brinks’ responsibilities at StubHub.

Viagogo bought StubHub from eBay in February for $4.1 billion in cash, just weeks before the coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of sporting events and concerts around the world.

Earlier in her career, Brinks was head of consumer marketing and communications for Nest and Google Home. She was also director of corporate comms for Big Fish Games and PR manager for Logitech.

In Q3, Amazon brought in a total of $96.2 billion in revenue, a 37.4% increase from the $69.98 billion it generated in the same period last year, and posted net income of $6.3 billion.
