SAN FRANCISCO: LaunchSquad is publicly releasing the workflow and analytics platform Outwing.
Outwing blends analytics, market intelligence and customized reporting to deepen and align earned media efforts with business goals.
LaunchSquad’s leadership decided to build its own platform years ago after struggling to find tools that fit the firm’s needs that were both affordable and easy-to-use.
"After many, many months, our team was unimpressed by the options we had on the market," said LaunchSquad cofounder and partner Jason Mandell. "We work with emerging brands in emerging market categories, and we were doing different things with the content on social media."
The original LaunchSquad intelligence platform was released to clients three years ago with an almost 90% adoption rate. The agency has built on that, putting more than 10,000 hours into development after listening to beta testers within agencies and on corporate communications teams.
"A lot of tools out there just try to throw as much data at the wall as they can, assuming that will work for communications professionals," said product manager Adam Severance. "But for us, it's a PR problem because if you have the right data points, you're able to fully communicate your value."
Outwing offers custom metrics and a real-time dashboard with relevant data and insights on pitches and campaigns, including Google Analytics. Users can see coverage and impact reports and briefing-to-coverage conversions stats to build media relationships.
Each tool was created to be customizable and easily exported, so communicators can focus on their stakeholders' needs.
"We wanted to empower users to pull data or insights in as many ways as possible, not just monthly reports," said Severance. "We've built one-click reporting across the entire dashboard to make it really easy to extract what data users need."
The platform costs about $200 a month for an individual dashboard and the full breadth of functionality. Bulk rates and agency packages are also available.
