Even Ocean Spray’s CEO can’t escape the ‘Dreams’ TikTok craze

This is one way to tell if a social media craze has really made it.

Ocean Spray CEO Tom Hayes has even joined in a social media challenge mentioning his brand by posting a video on TikTok of him skateboarding and drinking Cran-Raspberry juice directly from the bottle with the Fleetwood Mac song “Dreams” playing in the background.

His video was inspired by TikTok star Nathan Apodaca, who was the first person to do just that in a video posted last month.

A spokesperson from Ocean Spray PR partner JonesWorks said via email that Hayes was "showing off his own moves on four wheels, following Mick Fleetwood’s video."

The Fleetwood Mac drummer also took part in the challenge on Sunday, captioning his video, "@420doggface208 had it right. Dreams and Cranberry just hits different."

The song tripled in sales and nearly doubled in streams due to Apodaca’s viral video. And on Tuesday, “Dreams” was sitting atop the iTunes songs chart and Fleetwood Mac’s "Greatest Hits" album was No. 2 on the albums list more than 40 years after it was released.

Update: Later on Tuesday, Apodaca revealed an epic recreation of his viral feel-good skateboarding video now from his new cranberry red truck gifted to him by Ocean Spray.

Apodaca was so inspired by the gift that he recreated his viral TikTok on a whole new set of wheels and posted an Instagram showcasing the heartwarming story behind the gifting.
