Paul Lucas joins Fanclub as a director and will lead the strategic and creative direction of Fanclub’s client work. He will also support founder Adrian Ma to develop Fanclub’s proposition and client service offer.
Prior to Edelman, Lucas held director roles at Fever and TVC, and was a co-founder of Brando (now Citizen Relations).
Meanwhile Paul Allen, who was previously a partner at consulting firm SI Partners, will lead Fanclub’s strategic growth plans, while overseeing financial performance.
He has an accounting background and held various financial positions in the industry, including at Naked Communications, Edelman and Jackie Cooper PR (JCPR, now part of Edelman). Allen also holds advisory roles at Tin Man Communications and Blurred.
The pair join managing director and founder Adrian Ma, non-executive director Davnet Doran, and director Amy Hall on the Fanclub board.
“We’re seeing a lot of change as businesses prepare for recovery,” Ma said. “Our new appointments will ensure that Fanclub is in great shape to help these businesses accelerate out of the curve by building an agency full of talented people with a refreshed service offer, to help them realise the full potential of PR.”
Fanclub recently evolved its proposition to “converting customers from fans to those who impact the bottom line”.
It now operates as a collective of agency and in-house “like-minded marketers” with a focus on strategic, integrated communications across both consumer and business-to-business clients.
The agency has recently won several new clients, including bike subscription service Buzzbike and digital healthcare provider HealthHero.
