Morrisons new marcoms chief

Sainsbury's group head of brand communications and creative, Rachel Eyre, has joined rival Morrisons as its chief customer and marketing officer. Eyre’s remit includes customer insight, advertising, in-store and targeted marketing, as well as overseeing the customer services, local solutions and PR teams.

Tulchan senior hires

Tulchan Communications has made two senior appointments: institutional investor Mark Burgess and former Dentsu Aegis Network chief executive Jerry Buhlmann. Read more.

Promotion for Deliveroo’s PR chief

Deliveroo’s chief communications, policy and legal officer, Thea Rogers, has been promoted to chief customer officer following the departure of CMO Inés Ures. Rogers' responsibilities include communications, policy, marketing, insights and loyalty. The former aide to George Osborne joined Deliveroo in 2017 as its PR chief.

BCW’s digital hire

BCW has hired Alastair Sibley as digital director to its integrated digital innovation team. Sibley joins from Red Havas London, where he was responsible for the social business' growth and vision across its UK offices. Prior to Havas he worked at global recruitment marketing agency 33.

Weber’s corporate affairs lead

Weber Shandwick has promoted Ed Taylor to managing director of its corporate affairs practice after Anthony Marlowe joined insurance firm Rothesay Life as its head of comms and public affairs. Read more.

Clapp moves to YouTube

Google has appointed Zoë Clapp (pictured below) as director of YouTube marketing in the UK and YouTube Originals in EMEA. Clapp joins after a six-month stint as chief marketing officer at Premiership Rugby, which has been hit by the effects of COVID-19. She previously spent 15 years at UKTV, including four years heading marketing, communications, creative, media, social and online.

Nicky Morgan joins Grayling

Grayling has appointed the former Conservative MP for Loughborough, Baroness Nicky Morgan, to its UK Advisory Board. Read more.

Jargon strengthens senior team

Jargon PR has hired Michael Grass as an account director and promoted Kevin Winfield to account director. Grass joins Jargon PR from AD Communications and will be responsible for overseeing the PR team, supporting new business, and managing client service and agency performance. Winfield’s responsibilities include training and development of the Jargon PR team, managing global client campaigns and providing counsel to managing director Simon Corbett.

APO Group’s media relations chief

APO Group has appointed Fathima Ebrahim as vice-president of media relations. She will oversee client delivery and assist with business development from her base in Johannesburg. Before joining APO Group, Ebrahim was senior VP, client experience at Weber Shandwick South Africa and has worked as a group account director at Edelman South Africa.

MMGY Grifco leaders named

Associate directors Alexandra Delf and Flora Beaumont are being promoted to managing director following the merger of Grifco and Ophir. Read more.

Story Comms hires Waddington

Story Comms has appointed Stephen Waddington as a non-executive director as it targets its next phase of growth. The five-year-old agency, headquartered in Birmingham, plans to double in size in the next 18 months. Waddington left his role as managing director of digital marketing agency Metia in June to set up his own consultancy, Wadds Inc.

YOU’s new client lead

Communications group YOU Agency has appointed Simon Derungs as the head of client services. He joins from Oystercatchers and Econsultancy, where he was the lead consultant.

Carnsight’s account manager

Carnsight Communications has hired account manager Georgia Christley. She joins from Windhager UK, where she was an office manager.
