John Laing Group hires first comms director

Infrastructure firm John Laing Group has hired former Church of England comms chief Tashi Lassalle to the new role of communications director.

The company said Lassalle (pictured) will be responsible for "strengthening John Laing’s engagement with its key stakeholders, including its clients and partners", and will report to chief executive Ben Loomes.

Lassalle left her role of director of communications at the Church of England in June after almost three years.

Her previous roles include head of comms and marketing at insurer Lloyd's of London; director of comms and marketing at private equity firm Actis; and chief marketing officer and vice-president strategic development at Heidrick & Struggles, a global executive search firm.

Loomes said: “Tashi brings a wealth of relevant experience and expertise to John Laing in the finance and investment sectors. She will play an important role in the next phase of John Laing’s development and I am delighted to welcome her on board.”

Lassalle said: “I am very pleased to be joining John Laing, which has a strong brand and market position in investing in greenfield Infrastructure. The business has a strong long-term track record as a responsible investor. I am really looking forward to working with Ben and the rest of the management team to help build John Laing’s reputation among its key industry stakeholders.”

John Laing, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange, is an international originator, investor and manager of infrastructure projects, focused on major transport, social and environmental infrastructure schemes awarded under governmental public-private partnership programmes. It operates in the UK, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin and North America.
