40 Under 40 2020 | Leah Rosenfeld, Zeno Group, 38

From organizing grand openings to scoring new accounts to deftly handling unexpected disruption at a high-profile event, Leah Rosenfeld has managed many a PR challenge with aplomb.

At Zeno Group’s Chicago office, Rosenfeld leads major accounts including Crate and Barrel and Constellation Brands, and she is credited with securing the Daniel J. Edelman firm’s AOR account for Focus Brands – Cinnabon and Carvel.

Spearheading blockbuster events seems to be part of Rosenfeld’s professional DNA. Among those she has executed with Zeno are the Battle of Bristol for Pilot Flying J — which drew 153,000 fans — and events for Allstate Foundation, formerly known as Purple Purse.

For the latter client, one high-profile event nearly derailed when the headliner A-list celebrity suddenly ran off the packed red carpet mid-interview to catch a glimpse of the Pope, who happened to be around the corner. With her usual poise, Rosenfeld righted the ship before it sank and the rest of the event was smooth sailing.

Rosenfeld began her PR career as an intern at sibling agency Edelman and rose to account executive. At XA, The Experiential Agency, she led the firm’s largest account, Caesars Entertainment Horseshoe Casino Chicago, and its grand opening.

Rosenfeld joined Zeno Group in 2011 and has risen to SVP. She is a mentor to junior staff. “Leah helped create a unique style that enables us to be operationally better. She is a big part of one of the great industry stories in the past 10-plus years,” says Zeno’s chief culture officer Grant Deady.
