During the last 18 years, Danit Marquardt has become an accomplished and highly valued communications strategist and brand storyteller. And she is making her mark working for household name brands.

Marquardt joined Mattel in September 2019 as VP of global corporate communications and is already making major waves at the company.

In May, she developed and executed the strategic communications plan for the launch of #ThankYouHeroes, a special edition line of collectible action figures and Little People Community Champions from Fisher-Price that honors the individuals leading the fight against COVID-19 and everyday heroes who are keeping communities up and running.

The program produced widespread media coverage — more than 1,200 stories and 700 million media impressions — in the first 72 hours and burnished Mattel’s reputation as a company that cares.

Prior to Mattel, Marquardt was head of consumer communications for Walmart.com, where she oversaw the execution of nearly 30 media campaigns, resulting in more than 35,000 news stories. Specific launches included the introduction of free two-day shipping with no membership fee and the launch of the new Walmart.com.

Marquardt and her team also developed and executed strategic consumer campaigns with partners including Google, Lord & Taylor, Flower by Drew Barrymore, Sofia Jeans by Sofia Vergara, and others, with all of these campaigns producing significant media results.
