After cutting his teeth in the last financial crisis as manager of media relations at OppenheimerFunds (now Invesco) and stints at agencies Middleberg Communications and TowersGroup, Andrew Healy teamed up with industry veteran Scott Sunshine to launch Water & Wall in 2012 at the age of 31.
The firm’s origin story goes like this: Healy and Sunshine met in a pub at the corner of Water and Wall streets in Manhattan and sketched their ideas for what the agency of the future would look like onto a cocktail napkin.
In the eight years since, the firm expanded its headcount to 10. It tripled its annual billings in a two-year stretch while Healy grew the corporate and financial practice by 50% in two years, as the shop became an established and well-respected name in the world of financial communications.
Water & Wall has worked with clients such as GoldenTree Asset Management, Barclays, the World Gold Council, XE and State Street Global Advisors, the brand behind the award-winning Fearless Girl activation.
Healy also brings a personal touch to the gray-suited world of financial communications, hosting his team at his family’s Long Island home for annual barbecues. The company also holds quarterly teambuilding activities such as rock climbing and bowling.
Healy has also received kudos from his colleagues for the company’s response to the coronavirus pandemic for instituting a work-from-home process early and keeping its staff intact despite economic uncertainty.
