Brand Film Awards Winners 2020 - Most Emotional Film

LLYC wins most most emotional film with Invisible Soledad

Agency: LLYC  Client: BBK  Project: Invisible Soledad

Every year, the BBK Foundation makes a film to raise awareness in the Biscay province of northern Spain on an issue that is either forgotten or receives scant media attention.

In 2019 the issue of loneliness came to the fore - there are 2 million people over 65 who live in unwanted solitude in Spain. A sad reality is that they are only seen in the media when reporting the many cases of people who die absolutely alone.

The film Invisible Soledad (“Invisible Solitude”) is part of an awareness-raising campaign that tells the story not only on the death of elderly people in undesired situations of solitude, but also on the way society abandons them.

The sculptor Rubén Orozco created a sculpture of Mercedes, an 89-year-old woman living in a situation of unwanted solitude, which was set up in a bank located in one of the busiest places in Spain, making it seem like she died in absolute solitude. Using hidden cameras, the reactions of  passers-by was captured to demonstrate that people only pay attention to this problem when the most dreadful moment -  death - finally comes.

The story was picked up by over 280 media outlets, including the most popular Spanish television channels, reaching an audience of over 82 million people.

Judge’s comment: A great way of creating the story - weaving the stunt with film. The pace worked well, you were drawn in to the character and you were told everything you needed to for it to land. A super emotional story.
