Agency: The Edge Picture Company Client: Network Rail Film: Ask Twice
Network Rail needed a film to encourage more discussion among employees of their mental health, so managers would be better prepared to engage with it and everyone would be more willing to ask for help.
Specifically, it needed to get managers to recognise that often, if people are asked how they are, they’re unlikely to open up, even if they are struggling. The film is designed to land a single important central message in a highly memorable way: always ask twice.
The film has also been used more widely beyond the face-to-face training and is supported by an "Ask Twice Discussion Pack" to encourage all employees to think more about the subject and make it easier to talk about at work.
Feedback from classrooms where the film was shown was extremely positive, prompting extensive discussion on the best way to initiate these conversations and making managers better prepared to engage with mental health as a subject.
Judge's comment: "Hard hitting, really gives food for thought. Well made, well edited, really impressive film"
