John Lewis hires coporate & public affairs lead

The John Lewis Partnership has appointed Ofcom's director of communications, Chris Wynn, as director of corporate communications and promoted Gillian Taylor to head of brand communications for the group. Read more.

UK Space Agency hires comms lead

The UK Space Agency has appointed Ben Hemington, a former chief press officer for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), as its head of comms. Read more.

BCW partners with IR specialist

BCW France is partnering Investor Relations (IR) specialist Anne Guimard to enhance its financial communications offering. Guimard is the author of several books and articles on investor relations and considered an authority in the field by the financial community. She will bring her expertise to the firm’s French and international clients as a BCW senior advisor, providing counsel to clients involved in French and cross-border transactions, IPOs, rights issues and bond offerings, shareholder-base diversification, and capital markets positioning. She will also help train IR professionals at BCW, which is an accredited training institute in France. 

Milk & Honey’s new ‘corpsumer’ lead

Milk & Honey PR has appointed Simran Maini-Hoskins to lead its 'corpsumer' division and won a string of new clients. Read more.

Ireland joins UK Coaching

UK Coaching has hired Kristal Ireland to the new role of digital director. Ireland was previously head of ecommerce at Virgin Trains/LNER and has worked agency-side with clients including Npower, the NHS and the National Trust. She has been hired to add leadership and strategic direction to UK Coaching’s digital-centric future, which will accelerate as online resources are increasingly used for communication, work and leisure as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.

Manifest hires Incite MD

Jamie Klinger, the former head of publishing operations at Shortlist Media, has been hired to lead Manifest’s new continuing professional development programme, Incite. Read more.

Grammatik hires former tech editor of The Sun

Technology PR and marketing firm Grammatik Agency has appointed Jasper Hamill as senior account manager. He will work as part of the client management team, drawing on experience from media brands such as The Sun, The Mirror, The Register and Metro.co.uk. Hamill will work with Grammatik clients to help them grow, adapt and reach new audiences and help them drive new business efforts. Hamill is a former journalist with 15 years of experience. He worked as digital science and tech editor at The Sun and Metro.co.uk, as well as serving as a staff tech reporter at The Mirror and The Register. 

Lib Dems hire strategy lead

The Liberal Democrats have appointed former journalist and media comms chief Mimi Turner as the party’s director of strategy. Read more.

Bithell joins Be The Best

Be The Best Communications has appointed Lorna Bithell as senior consultant after a series of new account wins. Be The Best Communications has won briefs for Atlas Cloud, NES Global Talent, and the British infrastructure sector’s Industry Innovation Partnership, known as i3P. Bithell joins Be The Best Communications from Galibier PR, where she was client services lead.
