The brief here was to help Mencap reach a new audience to coincide with the rugby World Cup, and help dispel the misconceptions around learning disabilities and sporting activity.
The result was a documentary about Mencap’s first ever learning disability rugby team, charting three stories, one team - and a camel mascot.
The video was uploaded and shared on all England Rugby channels just two weeks before the World Cup, leading to more clubs around the country wanting to create their own learning disability rugby teams.
'Ruck it!' was broadcast at 15 different film festivals - showing that strong, long-form content could work on both social media and in cinemas. It has created a platform for Mencap to talk to a wider audience about the work they do, and to also position the charity as innovative in its storytelling approach.
