Lis Blair, who left easyJet in April when her role was scrapped, will join Bulb in October as its chief growth and marketing officer.

At easyJet she was responsible for the airline’s brand, customer, digital and marketing strategies.

She will be responsible for the growth, marketing and comms teams, which includes vice-president of global communications Emma Young, who will report to her.

Young joined Bulb in February from WeWork, where she was EMEA head of communications and public affairs.

She has also held senior comms roles at Disney (as head of international comms, Maker Studios), SoundCloud and The Place.

Also in the UK-based marcomms team is head or PR Charlotte Nathan, who joined last December from Hill+Knowlton Strategies, and vice-president of marketing Russell Davies.

Young told PRWeek she was looking forward to growing the comms team.

“Bulb is a truly exciting company that's helping people live more sustainably and tackle the climate crisis,” she said. “And as a B Corp, it also believes in a better way of doing business. I'm hugely excited to be joining such a talented team and looking forward to building out the comms function.”

Bulb has grown rapidly in recent years, adding 1.7 million members in less than five years and supplying energy to six per cent of UK households.

The business specialises in affordable electricity from solar, wind and hydro sources, as well as carbon-neutral gas. It aims to grow to 100 million members by 2030.

“Bulb is an exciting brand known for putting its members first, providing best-in-class customer service and offering a simpler, cheaper, greener alternative to the old energy suppliers,” Blair said.

“I am delighted to be joining the leadership team as they build on the growth and success of the company so far and help bring green energy to many more people around the world.”

Chief executive Hayden Wood added: "Lis has a fantastic track record leading global brand, customer and marketing strategy and shares our passion for solving problems with new technology.”

Aside from Blair and Young, Bulb has also hired chief product officer Lionel Guicherd-Callin, chief international officer Angie Bell, and chief people officer Tom Fraine.
