Global agency APCO Worldwide has added healthcare experts Dr Chew Souk Kai and Fredrik Nyberg to join its International Advisory Council (IAC). Based in Singapore, the duo will aid in providing counsel to more adeptly navigate a changing landscape.
APCO's IAC is made up of leaders and experts from across sectors, including former elected politicians, leaders of business and industry, academics, journalists, NGO and non-profit pioneers, diplomats and policy experts. Chew and Nyberg are joining the Health Advisory Board sub-group of the IAC, consisting of high-level public health leaders, communications heads of large pharmaceutical and insurance companies, and former health policy officials.
Chew is a senior advisor at Singapore's Ministry of Health, with more than 30 years of experience working in the government, healthcare industry and academia. He has worked at the WHO, served as the medical director of the Communicable Diseases Center, and is a founding member of the Singapore Infectious Diseases Society.
Nyberg, meanwhile, has more than 30 years of experience and is the former CEO at the Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed). He is currently managing director of Asia Pacific's Medtech Innovator, the industry's non-profit global accelerator for medical device, digital health and diagnostic companies.
"With urgent demand for the healthcare industry to continuously innovate, we want to support growing bio-technology and healthcare firms tackle challenges and ultimately succeed in providing valuable and innovative change to the industry and society," said James Yi, APCO's managing director for Southeast Asia & Korea.
