The mission of The Lagrant Foundation has never been more crucial. Kim Hunter founded the nonprofit organization in 1998 to address the lack of diversity in PR, marketing and advertising, which continues to be its driving force.
To date, the foundation has awarded more than $2.3 million in scholarships to more than 500 ethnic minority students and provided in excess of 300 internships and full-time employment. It also coordinates professional development workshops for students and pairs scholarship recipients with mentors.
Board members include powerhouses of the industry such as Lenovo CCO Torod Neptune, Weber Shandwick CEO Gail Heimann and Walmart’s EVP of corporate affairs Dan Bartlett.
Hunter also founded multicultural executive search firm KLH & Associates in 2011. Clients have included Sony Pictures Entertainment, Starbucks, BCW and Weber Shandwick.
Speaking about this year’s injustices, Hunter told PRWeek, “I continue to press on and make a difference in people’s lives every day.”
