He joins the 20-strong editorial team on 3 February, in place of Scott Manson, who stepped up to the editorship in November following Keith Kendrick's promotion to IPC head of business development.
Daubney joins from the News Of The World, where he edited Sin Bin, the sports gossip page.
Manson said: 'Sales weren't doing terribly well before but Keith brought them steady. Now I know how much we'll be selling every month I can concentrate on the care and detail - we need to craft it more.
'Men still want gorgeous women shot beautifully, entertainment and pub banter. What Loaded won't be doing so much of "how to" stuff left, right and centre,' he added.
