MEDIA: Revamp for Sky News current affairs

Sky News is to revamp its evening news and current affairs output with the introduction of two bi-weekly programmes.

Both hour-long shows are produced by Steve Clark and air between 8pm and 9pm. The first, called Littlejohn, began this week and is hosted by outspoken tabloid columnist Richard Littlejohn on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The second new show begins on 10 February in the same timeslot on Mondays and Wednesdays. A spokeswoman for Sky News said the content, format and presenters had yet to be decided.

The mid-evening slot was previously occupied by an hour of rolling news.

Both the new programmes will be broadcast live from Sky's Millbank studios, with the Sky News team providing updates on the issues being discussed and reporting breaking news.

In a separate move, Jon Craig, political editor of BBC London, is to join Sky News as political correspondent. Craig was formerly political editor of the Sunday Express and the Daily Express. He joins a team of four correspondents at Sky News led by political editor Adam Boulton.
