Turner to hold PR review after cuts in London office

Turner Broadcasting System - the company behind the CNN news network - is undertaking a UK PR review for three of its entertainment channels, with pitches possible later this year.

Vice-president of PR (EMEA) Sarah Wakeford and Cartoon Network PR director Min Pullan were both made redundant as Turner cut back its London PR department last month.

PR director Nick Hart - who has taken charge of trade and consumer PR for the Cartoon Network, Boomerang and CNX channels - said pitches were 'coming up' for PR or events work but added that there was no specific contract currently up for grabs.

Radiator PR, which promotes the Powerpuff Girls and V Birds series, was the three channels' only retained PR agency and its contract was not under threat, he added.

In recent months, Kazoo Communications and Cunning Stunts have handled project PR for CNX.

Turner Classic Movies - Turner's other entertainment channel - is unaffected by the PR review.
