INTERNATIONAL BRIEFS: Omnicom purchase falls apart

NEW YORK: Omnicom's purchase of US lobbying shop Quinn Gillespie & Associates (QGA) - one of the most anticipated acquisitions of 2002 - fell apart last month when the two sides failed to reach a final agreement. Omnicom-owned Fleishman-Hillard reached an 'agreement in principle' last September to buy QGA. But according to a QGA executive, an 11th hour change in terms forced the firm to walk away from the negotiating table.
