Consolidated wins Maxxium corp brief

Maxxium UK, the sales and marketing firm behind drink brands The Famous Grouse and After Shock, has hired Consolidated Communications for a corporate PR push.

Consolidated won a four-way pitch against hatch-group, The RED Consultancy and Grayling Group to secure the contract, which is understood to carry fees of around £120,000.

The agency will also handle trade PR for Maxxium UK, which is backed by four spirits giants: the Jim Beam Brands, Remy-Cointreau, The Edrington Group and Vin & Sprit of Sweden.

Harrison Cowley - which used to handle much of the trade PR work that has now passed to Consolidated - continues to handle trade PR for Whyte & Mackay.

Edinburgh-based Consolidated director Will Holt leads a five-strong account team, reporting to Maxxium UK comms manager Rachel Wood.

Wood, who stressed the trade PR forms the bulk of the remit, said Consolidated would also aim to 'strengthen the position of the corporate brand', in a push to raise awareness of which brands are in the Maxxium portfolio.

Henry's House continues to handle trade and consumer PR for Absolut vodka, while solo practitioner Su-Lin Ong continues to handle consumer PR for Cointreau, although she has lost the trade work to Consolidated.
