PUBLIC SECT0R: Tyneside Primary Care Trust enlists comms manager

North Tyneside Primary Care Trust (PCT) has appointed Julie Marsh as its first communications manager.

Responsible for overseeing internal and external relations across the trust, Marsh will also advise the senior management team on strategic comms issues. She reports to the trust's chief executive Pam McDougall.

With staff based across 55 sites, internal comms will be vital, Marsh said. 'I also will be looking at increasing peoples' knowledge of the services we provide directly and those we buy in from other NHS trusts, such as hospitals,' she added.

Marsh will be supported by a three-strong PR team at the Strategic Health Authority, covering Northumberland and Tyne & Wear.

Marsh has been a press officer for the probation service in Northumbria for six years. She has also held comms roles with Wycombe District Council and Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce.
