PUBLIC SECT0R: Westminster City Council advised on improvements

Communication with minority groups and internal comms are two areas in which Westminster City Council must improve, according to the preliminary findings of an advisory group brought in to oversee the council's Best Value review of comms.

Bell Pottinger Communications chief operating officer Paul Baverstock, and Association of London Government PA and comms director Anna Feuchtwang are among the PROs brought in to sit on a 12-strong advisory panel for the review, now underway.

The group has also said council branding should be improved, in addition to simplifying the wording of council publications, according to head of comms Alex Aiken.

The review, which is expected to take four months and will examine comms throughout the council, is being co-ordinated by comms development manager Julia Corkey.

Liza Greaves PR is also providing ad hoc comms consultancy to the council.
