Ian Rathbone takes on the newly created role, which sits alongside the comms and PR manager post left vacant in July, following the departure of Rupert Brennan-Brown to become head of comms at rail services firm Porterbrook (PRWeek, 5 July).
Crossrail confirmed it is continuing to recruit for that job. Both positions report to public affairs head Bernard Gambrill.
Rathbone joins Crossrail from Hackney Council, where he was recently seconded to handle PR for the campaign to bring in the East London Line extensions in north and south London.
