FD's London-based City and financial team will co-lead the campaign efforts, liasing with the agency's Athens bureau.
The agency won the brief after a competitive pitch and will report to Alpha Bank's recently appointed chief financial officer and executive general manager Marinos Yannopoulos.
FD director Geoffrey Pelham-Lane, who is overseeing the IR remit, said Yannopoulos was instrumental in the hiring of a comms agency.
'Marinos is aiming to improve financial disclosure and achieve IR best practice,' he said.
FD International CEO Charles Watson said: 'Since the entry of Greece into the euro, there's a real focus among these major Greek companies on shareholder and investor relations, and exploiting the benefits of being part of the euro zone in capital raising.'
FD worked for Alpha Bank at the beginning of the year, handling the group's failed merger proposition with the National Bank of Greece.
