The study asked 192 CEOs about how they prioritise different PR objectives and how they positively regard their in-house PR staff.
Asked how much time they spend on internal comms, 61 per cent said they invested more time than a year ago.
Sixty-two per cent reported they are spending more time on external comms.
Media relations remains a priority: 31 per cent of CEOs said they are more likely to participate in a media interview than they were a year ago.
Only 15 per cent said they are doing fewer interviews.
CEOs also reported a greater appreciation for the corporate comms function, with 66 per cent saying their regard has increased since 2001.
