MEDIA: Clarkson signs up for BBC's Top Gear magazine revamp

BBC Top Gear magazine is to be revamped at the end of the year with a greater emphasis on motoring news and sport.

From the December issue, the magazine will have a new 20-page front-end section dedicated to news, sport and humour, as part of a wider redesign.

The magazine will also give a greater role to the TV programme's presenter Jeremy Clarkson, who has been secured on an exclusive magazine writing contract. Through the deal he can continue with his newspaper work.

Clarkson quit the TV show three years ago but has returned after signing a new two-year contract including presenting the new series, which started last Sunday.

The website www.topgear. com has also been revamped with more space given to new and used car information.
