INTERNATIONAL: Ford modifies its original decision on comms posts

DEARBORN, MI: Ford Motor Company this week confirmed the re-organisation of its worldwide comms staff.

When CEO Jac Nasser was ousted last October, the then vice-president of comms Jason Vines also departed, replaced by two PR V-Ps, Joe Greenwell for products and Jim Vella for corporate communications.

This has now been modified, with Greenwell becoming V-P of North American marketing and Vella taking on Ford's sole PR chief job as V-P of public affairs.

In turn, Vella has re-organised his staff with the appointment of Jim Bright as executive director, Ford automotive operations public affairs, with six direct reports encompassing marketing and manufacturing activities in the Americas, Asia, and South Africa.

'These realignments reflect our drive for a more integrated communications strategy,' Vella wrote in an internal memo.
