PUBLIC SECT0R: LTB holds talks for the next phase of 'Visit London' push

The London Tourist Board is to launch its second major PR and marketing push of 2002 as it attempts to boost visitor numbers to the capital.

Talks are taking place between the LTB, the Greater London Authority's development arm the London Development Agency, and Mayor Ken Livingstone on the details of the campaign.

This will form part of 'Visit London', Livingstone's three- year blueprint for tourism, unveiled last month.

Extra funding totalling £7m has already been earmarked for marketing, now and over the next three years.

According to LTB communications director Rachel Smith the campaign is set for a pre-Christmas launch.

PR will be coordinated by the LTB in-house team and may involve additional support from BGB &Associates, which supported the last major PR push, 'The Greatest Show on Earth'.
