PRWeek UK's 30 Under 30 list for 2019 features Rachel Proctor, head of digital at Milk & Honey PR (27).

Formerly of Cannes Lions and Thomson Reuters, Proctor joined Milk & Honey with no direct PR experience a year ago and has excelled, moving from client manager to head of digital and increasing revenue by an impressive 29 per cent. She runs her own portfolio of five clients and in nine months pitched and won four retained pieces of work.

The secret to being a good comms pro in 2019 is... An insatiable curiosity for people. Understanding what makes them tick, the content that will change their behaviour and the best ways to get it in front of them. 

If I could change anything about the PR industry, it would be... External perceptions! Within the industry we do a brilliant job of collaborating and sharing best practice, as well as delivering outstanding work. However, ask those outside of the comms world and they'll paint you a picture of Ab Fab – it's time to change that! 

I'm inspired by... People! I'm incredibly fortunate to have a multitalented team around me who inspire and challenge me every day. To have brave, ambitious growth clients that put their trust in us. To the people behind the stories, the case studies and content that we work on every day. 

If I wasn't in PR, I'd be... I've always worked in communications, albeit in a wide variety of roles, but I've really come to life working in PR. If I was to leave it would have to be for something entirely different! Perhaps a turtle conservation or setting up a beach bar on a remote island paradise.
