With a background at Burson-Marsteller and Maitland, Gornall launched her own specialist environmental comms agency one year ago and already has five staff with a fee income of more than £300,000 and impressive clients including Greenpeace. Recognised as a leader in environmental comms and policy, she has established an advisory panel of worldwide environmental experts chaired by Ben Goldsmith.
The secret to being a good comms pro in 2019 is... Happy staff, happy clients and hitting the figures - in that order. It's also important to ensure you have 100 per cent confidence from your clients and an ability to adapt to their ever-changing needs. You also need to keep an eagle eye on your competitors.
I'm inspired by... Campaigners with unwavering dedication for their values and causes. The environmental community has achieved a huge amount in the past few years by collaborating and putting issues above their own brand. This ethos can't be faked and I think it's something for everyone in the sector to aspire towards.
If I wasn't in PR, I'd be... A marine biologist.
