Tower Hamlets' Crozier leaves to be a consultant

The London Borough of Tower Hamlets' head of communications Siobhan Crozier is to quit at the end of the year to become a consultant.

Crozier, who joined the council in July last year (PRWeek, 4 May 2001), said the move was something she had been considering for some time.

'I wanted to do something new. I've been in this area for ten years and already been head of communications. I'm looking for the next challenge,' she said.

She denied her departure was because her role did not have management status or that Lorraine Langham, the consultant and PR expert who conducted the review last year that led to the creation of Crozier's role, had a continued presence at Tower Hamlets.

Crozier said Langham had 'taken a back seat' on communications to concentrate on projects for CEO Christine Gilbert.

No decision has yet been taken on Crozier's replacement but she expects that the council 'will want to recruit quickly'.
