Marketing manager Sheila O'Connell said: 'We are always looking for good deals for students. The aim is to make it a one-stop shop offering discounts and advice as a first port of call for students. New partners for the site have to offer something beneficial, such as a student discount or student-specific services.'
The site will concentrate on three areas: travel, clothes and entertainment.
E-mails on relevant products and services can be sent by the NUS to a database of registered users.
'In addition to the website and e-mails, NUS and students' unions also offer a number of other ways of promoting clients to students,' O'Connell said.
Editor Judith Broadbent works on the NUS's offline publications as well as overseeing website content developers Oliver Doward and Tom Edge.
The site was redesigned by ITM Communications, which also handles web advertising.
