Trump is attacking companies on Twitter again. President Donald Trump tweeted on Sunday night that he spoke with General Motors’ CEO Mary Barra about his demands to reopen or sell a plant it recently closed due to shifting customer demand. GM responded late Sunday: "To be clear, under the terms of the [United Automobile Workers union and GM], the ultimate future of the unallocated plants will be resolved between GM and the UAW." (CNN)
Looks like Trump is also trying to control Fox News’ programming. When "Justice with Judge Jeanine" did not air on Fox News this weekend, Trump tweeted that the network needed to bring Jeanine Pirro's show back and that "Radical Left Democrats" and "fake news media" are trying to silence the majority of the country. Pirro was rebuked by the network for comments she made during her previous episode, in which she suggested that Minnesota representative Ilhan Omar’s hijab was "indicative of her adherence to Sharia law, which in itself is antithetical to the United States Constitution."
YouTube star Shane Dawson has apologized for bestiality jokes he made on a 2015 podcast that resurfaced. Dawson, who has 21 million subscribers on YouTube, said the distasteful jokes he made suggesting he had performed a sex act on his pet cat were "dumb," adding that he is now sorry in a series of tweets on Sunday night. On Monday morning, "Shane Dawson" was trending on Twitter, with many lambasting the influencer for his comments. Fellow YouTuber Garrett Watts tweeted out a letter in support of Dawson early Monday.
Over the weekend, Facebook removed 1.5 million videos of the New Zealand attack. Mia Garlick, spokeswoman for Facebook New Zealand, tweeted on Sunday from the Facebook Newsroom (@fbnewsroom) handle that the social network continues "to work around the clock to remove violating content using a combination of technology and people."
