Hewer was a partner for 15 year at Tulchan, advising blue-chip clients on their financial and corporate communications. This includes strategic and critical communications challenges, including transactions, strategic change, issues management and crisis.
In his new role, Hewer will join the senior team in MHP’s capital markets division, led by Oliver Hughes and executive chairman Andrew Jaques.
MHP’s capital markets practice had a strong 2018, advising on more UK IPOs than any other financial communications agency. It was also among the top five UK PR agencies by number of M&A deals and won new clients, including The Restaurant Group, Speedy Hire and Draper Esprit.
In the past week, MHP’s capital markets team won the retained financial brief for Avon Rubber, a technology group that specialises in dairy milking equipment and gas masks, which is listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange.
"Peter is a first-class operator and I am thrilled to have him join our team," Hughes said. "The breadth of his experience in all aspects of financial communications will be invaluable as we continue to grow the business and advise our clients in an increasingly complex and fast changing environment.
Hewer added: "There’s great momentum in the business and I’m looking forward to supporting Oliver to continue to grow the practice and deliver outstanding advisory services to clients."
