TORONTO: Current has started working with the family and brands division of Entertainment One, an independent TV, film, and music studio.

The company is handling development and management, content creation, marketing, licensing and merchandising, and product development for children’s animated series "Peppa Pig," "PJ Masks," and others.

The Interpublic Group agency began working with Entertainment One on Friday, according to Current EVP Eric Slutsky.

Slutsky said Current won the account in February after participating in a formal review that began late last year. He declined to say what other agencies competed in the process, Entertainment One’s incumbent, or comment on the financial details of the contract.

Entertainment One has also worked with Child’s Play Communications.

Slutsky, who will lead the account team, said the agency is planning to build awareness for Entertainment One’s titles, including Peppa Pig, by focusing on key seasonal moments and other milestones.

Entertainment One declined to comment about hiring Current.
