DIARY: Stonborough gets stranded in Austrian floods

A rather weary-seeming John Stonborough writes to tell us of his sojourn to Austria last week in search of a little calm.

Stonborough, who is one of the judges for the forthcoming 2002 PRWeek Awards, took the opportunity to visit the country to read through the multitude of entries weighing down his suitcase.

However, his avowed aim of using his break to 'hike, get a bit of sun and some peace and quiet' was frustrated by the heavy rainfall that has hit most of central Europe.

'The road to my inn was soon under feet of water and I had to be evacuated. Then the hotel in the town centre was surrounded by five feet of water,' he laments, admitting that he was then forced to make for the airport.

All's well that ends well, though, as Stonborough assures us he managed to have a good of read all those entries.
