INTERNATIONAL: Oracle to recruit WS as G/H Forrest loses Asian remit

SINGAPORE: Software giant Oracle has dropped its regional PR consultancy in Asia, Golin/Harris Forrest, just three months after hiring the agency (PRWeek, 10 May).

The firm is understood to have hired Weber Shandwick to handle PR work in Singapore, and is in negotiations over the retained brief for the Asia region.

Golin/Harris Forrest originally won the corporate and media relations account from Burson-Marsteller, and had employed several extra staff to service it.

Oracle PR manager Ada Fong alluded only to a search for the 'right fit' as the impetus behind the switch: 'Things are changing all the time, we are just looking for a consultancy that is the right fit,' she said.

Golin/Harris Forrest South-East Asia managing director Jeff Schultz, confirmed the split, but said that the loss of the account would not lead to redundancies.
