Global asset management firm PGIM appoints new EMEA head of comms

PGIM has appointed Joanna Drew to the newly-created role of head of communications in EMEA.

PGIM – the investment management business of Prudential Financial – is among the 10 largest asset management firms, with $1.2 trillion in assets under management.

Drew joins from investment management firm Neuberger Berman, where she was EMEA head of comms, and previously held senior PR and communications roles at BNY Mellon Investment Management, Baring Asset Management, ABN Amro and Deutsche Bank. Her PR career at The Economist before moving to Dow Jones.

Drew will be responsible for establishing and leading an integrated communications function across EMEA to support PGIM and its eight businesses. These are PGIM Fixed Income, PGIM Real Estate, PGIM Real Estate Finance, QMA, Jennison, PGIM Investments, PGIM Global Partners and Pricoa Capital Group.

She will be based in London and reports to PGIM head of global communications Ted Smith.

"Jo brings a wealth of experience in designing integrated communications strategies for asset managers in EMEA," Smith said.

"She will play a key role in ensuring that PGIM’s strengths and differentiated proposition are recognised throughout the market. As a multi-manager, the breadth of investment expertise across our six independent investment businesses positions us well to meet the evolving needs of our global clients."
