INTERNATIONAL: TBS Europe hires MMD for Hungary and Romania job

BUDAPEST: Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) Europe is planning a PR push across Hungary and Romania in support of its local-language programming launch.

The group is making the move in a bid to increase its regional focus and increase local brand awareness.

TBS has hired MMD Central and Eastern Europe to run the PR programme.

MMD, which won the work after a non-competitive pitch, will promote the programmes scheduled to be broadcast in local languages, such as Cartoon Network and Turner Classic Movies.

TBS vice-president PR (EMEA entertainment networks) Sarah Wakeford said: 'MMD will be responsible for programme publicity, brand marketing and media relations.'

MMD will lead the account jointly out of Hungary and Romania, with teams of three looking after the work in each country.
